Is there an existing issue for this?
Please describe the feature you have in mind and explain what the current shortcomings are?
Plugin CollectFrameFixDefs is currently filtered for "nuke" host with "families" ["render", "prerender"]. Technically is nuke's plugin. We can't remove the hosts filter because of the families filters.
There is also very similar plugin in houdini https://github.com/ynput/ayon-houdini/blob/develop/client/ayon_houdini/plugins/publish/collect_frames_fix.py .
How would you imagine the implementation of the feature?
I see 3 possible solutions:
- Keep it as it is (I don't like this option).
- Make the plugin generic -> this might be difficult because it does show attributes and we didn't yet came to conclusion how to handle families on instances. Also not sure if the current logic is generic (considering slight differences from houdini's plugin)?
- Move the plugin to nuke -> requires backwards compatibility handling but can be almost unchange.
I do prefer the 2 but that is task which requires a lot of discussion. And would probably still require backwards compatibility handlin houdini-side.
I did draft option 3 in nuke.
