#### Replacing and deleting assets in the new media library

The following actions are only available in the new (unstable) Media Library. To use them, start Strapi with the `UNSTABLE_MEDIA_LIBRARY=true` environment variable and navigate to `/admin/plugins/unstable-upload` in the admin panel.

In the new Media Library, the asset details drawer includes 2 actions in its footer: replace and delete.

To replace an asset:

1. Click an asset to open the asset details drawer.
2. Click the replace icon button in the drawer footer.
3. Click **Confirm** in the confirmation dialog.
4. Select a replacement file using the file chooser. The drawer refreshes with the updated asset details. A success notification appears above the asset preview.

To delete an asset:

1. Click an asset to open the asset details drawer.
2. Click the trash icon button <Icon name="trash" /> in the drawer footer.
3. Click **Confirm** in the confirmation dialog. The asset is deleted and the drawer closes.

### Organizing assets with folders

Folders in the Media Library help you organize uploaded assets. Folders sit at the top of the Media Library view or are accessible from the Media field popup when using the [Content Manager](/cms/features/content-manager).
