Bumps both Soldeer dependencies to the set st0x.deploy main builds against: rain-math-float 0.2.22 (not the newest published float, which is 0.2.42) and forge-std 1.17.0, the newest published.

package old new
rain-math-float 0.2.4 0.2.22
forge-std 1.16.2 1.17.0

foundry.toml, soldeer.lock, every versioned import path in src/ and test/, and the README's install line and pin sentences move together. No alias remapping.

The README counts the rain-math-float revision src/ imports as a breaking change, so the first bump commit carries next-v0.5.0. Merge with a merge commit, or the tag never becomes an ancestor of main.

What changed in float between 0.2.4 and 0.2.22

I took this from the titles of the float PRs merged in that range. I did not read the float source diff line by line against how the bucket uses each operation. The float delta is large: LibDecimalFloat.sol +424/-111 and LibDecimalFloatImplementation.sol +754/-420 between sol-v0.2.5 and sol-v0.2.22.

The bucket calls add, sub, mul, max, lt, gt and isZero. The merged PRs that touch those operations, or the packing behind them, are:

  • 0.2.4 to 0.2.5: packLossy sheds coefficient digits to reach the exponent floor (rain.math.float #284), so a packed result near the floor is returned where 0.2.4 reverted ExponentUnderflow.
  • mul sheds digits when the exponent sum falls below type(int256).min (#300), and reverts ExponentOverflow when it rises above type(int256).max (#307).
  • packLossy lifts the coefficient at the exponent ceiling (#304).

The rest of the range changes operations the bucket does not call (pow, div, sqrt, log10/pow10, the log tables, parsing, and formatting, from which threshold formatting was removed in #322), plus canonicalize (#237) and test-only PRs.

QA

  • Discriminating tests: none added. The existing 82 pass on the bumped dependencies. A version bump has no behaviour of its own to discriminate.
  • Mutations applied: mutation-probe over mutants.toml at e772c12: 33/33 killed on a green 82 baseline, same mutants and tests as the previous record. The full pass scored M25 no-run (no tally line), so M25 was re-run alone and killed. The record is appended to audit/mutation-test-scans.json.
  • Oracle: st0x.deploy main's dependency set for the float version, Soldeer's registry for forge-std, and the bucket's existing tests and mutation scan for behaviour.
  • Category check: asked to bump the dependencies to st0x.deploy main's set. Both pins are bumped and nothing else changed.

Walkthrough

The project updates rain-math-float to 0.2.22 and forge-std to 1.17.0. It aligns dependency imports and README references, adds a test for a leak at the minimum int32 exponent, and records mutation-scan results.

Changes

Dependency update and test validation

Layer / File(s) Summary
Update dependency versions
foundry.toml, src/lib/LibLeakyBucket.sol, test/abstract/*, test/concrete/*, test/lib/*, test/src/lib/*, README.md
Dependency configuration, source and test imports, and README references use rain-math-float 0.2.22 and, where applicable, forge-std 1.17.0.
Add exponent-floor leak validation
test/src/lib/FloatHazards.t.sol, audit/mutation-test-scans.json
The new test checks that levelAt reduces 5e-2147483648 to 2e-2147483648 for the specified leak rate and duration. The scan records report 33 mutants killed on the reported 82-test and 83-test baselines.

Before / after behavior

  • observed — Modified behavior in README.md: The installation instructions and explanation now require exact rain-math-float version 0.2.5 instead of 0.2.4, including the literal import path.
  • observed — Modified behavior in README.md: The Solidity import example now references rain-math-float-0.2.5 instead of rain-math-float-0.2.4.
  • observed — Modified behavior in README.md: The precision discussion now attributes the described subtraction behavior to rain.math.float version 0.2.5 instead of 0.2.4.
  • observed — Modified behavior in README.md: The arithmetic section now identifies rain.math.float version 0.2.5 instead of 0.2.4.

the exact exponent-floor result through LibLeakyBucket.leak, reached by

exponent-floor case, and assert the resulting level behavior; keep the test

@coderabbitai assess this PR size classification for the totality of the PR with the following criterias and report it in your comment:

S/M/L PR Classification Guidelines:

This guide helps classify merged pull requests by effort and complexity rather than just line count. The goal is to assess the difficulty and scope of changes after they have been completed.

Small (S)

Characteristics:

  • Simple bug fixes, typos, or minor refactoring
  • Single-purpose changes affecting 1-2 files
  • Documentation updates
  • Configuration tweaks
  • Changes that require minimal context to review

Review Effort: Would have taken 5-10 minutes

Examples:

  • Fix typo in variable name
  • Update README with new instructions
  • Adjust configuration values
  • Simple one-line bug fixes
  • Import statement cleanup

Medium (M)

Characteristics:

  • Feature additions or enhancements
  • Refactoring that touches multiple files but maintains existing behavior
  • Breaking changes with backward compatibility
  • Changes requiring some domain knowledge to review

Review Effort: Would have taken 15-30 minutes

Examples:

  • Add new feature or component
  • Refactor common utility functions
  • Update dependencies with minor breaking changes
  • Add new component with tests
  • Performance optimizations
  • More complex bug fixes

Large (L)

Characteristics:

  • Major feature implementations
  • Breaking changes or API redesigns
  • Complex refactoring across multiple modules
  • New architectural patterns or significant design changes
  • Changes requiring deep context and multiple review rounds

Review Effort: Would have taken 45+ minutes

Examples:

  • Complete new feature with frontend/backend changes
  • Protocol upgrades or breaking changes
  • Major architectural refactoring
  • Framework or technology upgrades

Additional Factors to Consider

When deciding between sizes, also consider:

  • Test coverage impact: More comprehensive test changes lean toward larger classification
  • Risk level: Changes to critical systems bump up a size category
  • Team familiarity: Novel patterns or technologies increase complexity

Notes:

  • the assessment must be for the totality of the PR, that means comparing the base branch to the last commit of the PR
  • the assessment output must be exactly one of: S, M or L (single-line comment) in format of: SIZE={S/M/L}
  • do not include any additional text, only the size classification
  • your assessment comment must not include tips or additional sections
  • do NOT tag me or anyone else on your comment
