All of a sudden Blitz starts jobs Generating Blitz cache

Hi there,

Bit of a hassle in atm: suddenly we see jobs lik Generating Blitz cache kicking off. Since the site is huge, this will take ages and puts a firm constraint on the database.

Can we disable this somehow?
The Refresh Mode is as follows:

Yes, clicking the Generate Cache button in the Blitz Cache utility will generate the entire cache, as will running the craft blitz/cache/generate console command.

In theory, yes. You said this started happening “all of a sudden”, so I’d suggest you investigate what changed since it started (Craft/plugin updates, new admin user, etc.).

Yeah best case we have is access logs, we try to backtrace this to a single user but no luck so far, given the fact that it is always a POST on the same page (utility) - it complicates stuff a bit. Unless you have some solid ideas?

You’re able to see a POST request on the Blitz Cache utility page? If so, lock down access to the utility until you figure out who it is.

I have the same problem, i recently installed blitz on a new site and jobs for refreshing pages appears from time to time, hitting the db pretty hard. anyway to not allow jobs in anyway?

No, since Blitz would essentially become useless without being able to create queue jobs. I suggest you investigate what is triggering those refresh jobs (likely users working in the CP, content imports or other scheduled cron jobs) and troubleshoot from there.

@bencroker why useless? Clearing the cache and generating cache organically doesn't need jobs, right?

what kind of jobs are still required?

Whenever an element is edited by a user in the CP, a refresh job is required to determine whether pages should be regenerated or marked as expired, depending on the refresh mode.

@bencroker I understand, but also my jobs are getting stuck at 0% and not completing, which is weird with 1GB of memory:
