Distribution:
NAME="Pop!_OS"
VERSION="20.04 LTS"
Related Application and/or Package Version:
git, pop-desktop
Issue/Bug Description:
I'm trying to remove git that comes from apt repository and add this ppa to get newer stable version. But when I do apt remove git, I get a warning that pop-desktop will be removed too.

Update: You can definitely install git from the PPA without removing it but that is out of the scope of this issue.
Steps to reproduce:
Run this: sudo apt remove git
Expected behavior:
Core features like pop-desktop should not be dependent on a package like git at all.
