I accidently entered zoom mode. I did not know the shortcut but I seem to have pressed it somehow. After that my desktop was zoomed and I had not idea how to exit it. Maybe add ESC as default exit when in zoom or think of something smart. This was after 1 hour of using cosmic 1.9.0 so I reverted to kde plasma after such things are ironed out.
