Milestones
List view
Once the milestone "Adapt_to_new_scn" is completed, we will have a working pipeline able to produce one status scenario and 3 future scenarios using NEP 2025 data and previously existing methods. This milestone include all new features or data updates (not done in AP3.1). When all issues listed here are done, we will have all 4 scenarios in full structure ready to be used by eTraGo and eDisGo. Then a round of bug fixing will start based on the optimization tool results.

Overdue by 2 month(s)•Due by August 14, 2026•25/34 issues closedFirst stable release of the `eGon-data` framework developed as part of the eGon project. This release provides a reproducible and validated dataset foundation for system-level energy modeling with a focus on the German **transmission and high-voltage distribution grid** (110–380 kV). Key contents: * High-resolution, georeferenced grid topology (based on OSM and TSO data) * Sector-coupled demand and flexibility inputs (electricity, heat, mobility, hydrogen) * Aggregated input data and processed model layers for three core scenarios: * `eGon2035`, * `eGon2035_lowflex`, * and early versions of `eGon100RE` * Validated parameter sets and scenario-driven data preparation (via Netzentwicklungsplan and OEP sources) * Structured Airflow-based workflow for automated data processing * Consistent integration with downstream modeling tools (e.g. eTraGo, PyPSA) This milestone marks the completion of the first full system data layer used in the eGon project and forms the foundation for future scenario modeling and model-driven flexibility assessments.
No due date•3/4 issues closedImprovement of the data basis to enable more accurate estimations of available grid connection capacities in the German transmission and high-voltage grid. Focus areas: * Integration of the JAO static grid model * Update routines for volatile input data (e.g. OSM, MaStR) * Model parametrization and validation using NVP-related data Supports faster and more transparent planning of renewable energy projects.
No due date•2/3 issues closedThis release marks the main development phase within the **reGon** project ("regionalized energy Grid optimization of n flexibilities"). It builds upon the foundational data structures and tools from `eGon`, and adapts them for real-world application in collaboration with associated stakeholders. The `v3.0.0` milestone focuses on: * **Modularization and update** of the eGon-data pipeline for region-specific modeling and scenario generation * **Improved usability** of tools and interfaces (e.g. via Webmap and tutorials) * **Integration of new scenarios** and regional data, especially for analyzing the five reGon use cases (regional planning, municipal heat transition, resilience, flexibility across grid levels, and operational strategies in MV/LV networks) * **Enhanced representation of flexibility options** and their interaction across voltage levels The release aims to establish a robust, open and scalable modeling framework to support regional energy actors and improve interoperability across system levels.
No due date•3/24 issues closedThis release marks the transitional development phase after the official end of the eGon project and before the start of the regon project. It consolidates multiple previously independent development branches (e.g. from `powerd-data`, internal tooling), and aims to establish a reproducible and maintainable baseline.
