What this adds

  • Look up any game on the website: a search box covering all 34,567 games with at least one ProtonDB report, owned or not. It needs no files. You can type a name, type a Steam app ID, or paste a Steam store link.
  • Each result shows the weight, the reports, the apps to try on the chosen device, and how many ProtonDB reports it rests on (for example, "Based on: ProtonDB, 2 reports"). 24,146 of the games have only 1 to 4 reports.
  • lookup.json (new, next to index.html, one game per line) is made by scripts/make_lookup.py. Games already in ratings.json are taken as listed and only gain a ProtonDB verdict from fewer reports. It's website-only, so it isn't in the skill zip.
  • lookup.json is shared under the ODbL, like ratings.json, because it's built mostly from ProtonDB's ODbL data. The file carries its own license line and names its sources, the README's data credits cover it, and the lookup box credits ProtonDB.
  • The list downloads only when someone searches (about 0.6 MB compressed). It's from the same repository, so the site still contacts no other site.
  • The monthly refresh rebuilds lookup.json.
  • Fixed the doubled × in the search boxes in Chrome and Edge.
  • README, CHANGELOG, and SKILL.md are updated.

Checks

  • 36 tests pass, including two new lookup tests.
  • Checked in a browser at desktop and phone widths: no errors and no outside requests. Device choice changes the suggested apps. Claude-filled pages don't show the box.
