Summary

  • Adds a Keenable search-and-fetch connector (keenable#search, keenable#fetch) against the authenticated REST API (X-API-Key, https://api.keenable.ai).
  • Both endpoints are PER_CALL 1 Keenable credit with no usage.consolidate (REST has no usage receipt). Search mode is not a request field; the keyless /public twins are out of scope.
  • Replay tests cover happy paths, recorded 401s, and schema gates. Live tests passed against a real key.

Spec: openspec/changes/add-connector-keenable/. No schema/engine contract change — version:check is clean.

Test plan

  • deno task check / lint / fmt
  • deno task test (356 passed, including keenable replay)
  • deno task test:live for keenable with KEENABLE_API_KEY
  • Double-compile --force --frozen-meta byte-identical
  • deno task version:check
  • deno task catalog endpoints --provider keenable

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features

    • Added authenticated Keenable web search with site, date, point-in-time, snippet-length, and result-count options.
    • Added URL content fetching in indexed or live mode, with optional content limits and prompt-based extraction.
    • Search usage is based on returned results; empty searches incur no result-based charge. Fetch is charged per call.
  • Validation & Errors

    • Requests validate required queries and HTTP/HTTPS URLs, plus supported field types and prompt length.
    • Authentication failures are reported as provider errors.

Add search and fetch as a PER_CALL search provider against the authenticated Keenable REST API.

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

Adds a Keenable provider with X-API-Key authentication, 30-second timeouts, and provider-level per-call usage. Adds authenticated search and fetch endpoints with input validation and endpoint-specific usage rules. Search usage is based on result count, with empty results counted as zero. Adds synthetic success fixtures, recorded unauthorized responses, replay and live tests, and connector design records.

Priority: ⬇️ Low

Merge Risk

Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to 18197

The endpoints enforce the documented input limits, and search billing matches the specified behavior. Move the vendor bounds into their schema mirrors; this is a bounded connector-contract issue rather than a demonstrated request failure.

Security Architecture Review

Security architecture risk: 🔵 Low · up to 18197

The integration uses a fixed HTTPS destination and established API-key handling. No credential bypass or disclosure was established. Empty searches intentionally incur provider cost without charging callers; independent spending limits and production retry behavior remain unverified.

Retained concerns
No architecture-level concerns identified.

Security review details

Security Blast Radius

  • inferred — The added authority is authenticated search and fetch against the account represented by the resolved Keenable key. Repeated calls can consume that account's credits. The evidence does not establish production tenant-to-key assignment or independently enforceable spending limits, so maximum shared-account exposure remains unknown.

Security Findings and Attack Paths

  • inferred — Repeated empty-result searches would report zero caller credits while the documented vendor policy still deducts credits. This is an explicit subsidy, not a verified quota bypass: an attack on a caller budget would require that budget to rely solely on returned usage, which the available evidence does not establish.

Trust Boundaries and Controls

  • observed — Request construction selects the provider's fixed HTTPS origin and fixed endpoint paths independently of caller payloads. The recorded 401 test asserts provider-error output and zero usage but neither inspects request headers nor establishes attacker control over credential resolution.

Resilience and Maintainability Implications

  • inferred — Usage is settled independently per completed call; the connector does not implement a durable reservation, deduplication, or recovery protocol. Transport interruption can occur before settlement, and repeated or concurrent invocations are separate requests. Production ownership of holds, cancellation, retries, reconciliation, and independent spend accounting remains outside the inspected implementation.

Hardening Proposals

  • proposed — Before relying on returned usage as a spending control, confirm an independent per-credential request or vendor-spend budget that includes subsidized empty searches and provider-error fetches. Assign retry and reconciliation ownership for requests whose vendor outcome is uncertain after interruption.

@KGKallasmaa thanks for submitting the PR. Can you resolve the CodeRabbit's comments first?

…ve SKU

Drop the authored endpoint pin and fetch.live until a published amount exists, move vendor-mirror tightening to the binding, and tighten tests to the compiler path-instructions.

Keenable here. We have checked this against our API and docs: the endpoints, limits and the one-credit-per-call model are right, and the live tests pass with our key. Happy for this to be the Keenable connector; if it helps, we can record real fixtures for the happy paths or pick up the two open threads in a follow-up.

Align with Monid's production Keenable adaptor and its drills
(2026-09-28 / 2026-10-01):

- search: `mode` ("pro" | "realtime") is accepted by the REST body and
each mode draws one credit — now an optional string instead of
  z.never() (design D3).
- fetch: `live` measured at one credit, same as an indexed fetch — now
  an optional boolean (design D4).
- search: `results: []` still draws a vendor credit but bills the buyer
  0 — PER_UNIT RESULT with 0|1 evidence, the litescrape empty-success
  shape (design D2).
- time bounds: `w` unit and Unix epoch (as a string) for `query_time`
documented; empty strings rejected at the binding.

New synthetic fixtures for a live fetch and an empty search; tests for
both plus mode / bound twins. Main merged in.

Review comments at @connectors/keenable/endpoints/fetch/schema/inputs.ts:
- Around line 8-9: Update zKeenableFetchQueryParams to enforce prompt’s
2000-character maximum and the minimum length of 1 for prompt and max_chars,
then remove the endpoint.ts .extend() bounds and bind zKeenableFetchQueryParams
directly.

Review comments at @connectors/keenable/endpoints/search/schema/inputs.ts:
- Around line 11-12: Move the vendor validation bounds into zKeenableSearchBody
in inputs.ts: require non-empty query and site values, apply .min(1) to each
time-bound field, and enforce snippet_max_length 180–10000 and max_results 1–50.
Then update the endpoint binding to use zKeenableSearchBody directly, removing
its duplicate field rebinding while preserving the required query and loose-body
behavior.
