👋 Giordon Stark — @kratsg

I am a Deaf Research Assistant Professor and experimental particle physicist in the Enrico Fermi Institute at the University of Chicago, working with the ATLAS collaboration at CERN. I look for signs of new physics Beyond the Standard Model, with a focus on electroweak supersymmetry, hadronic final states, boosted object reconstruction, jet substructure, pile-up mitigation, and the intersection of particle physics, scientific computing, and machine learning.

🔭 As this is GitHub, you're probably wondering about my software know-how, so let's code-switch (get it?). I'm a core developer of pyhf, the statistical analysis tool that enabled ATLAS to become the first particle physics experiment to publish full statistical likelihoods, and a co-administrator of the Scikit-HEP organization. I've also built software for the ATLAS ITk pixel quality-control ecosystem and work on analysis infrastructure for the LHC and HL-LHC.

🤖 At UChicago, I lead the development of software environments for LHC Run 3 analysis and drive AI/ML innovation for the HL-LHC era. My work spans IRIS-HEP Analysis Systems and USATLAS Operations, including the development of analysis infrastructure and support for hundreds of physicists through the UChicago Analysis Facility. I'm also a member of the MANIAC Lab, working at the intersection of scientific computing, AI, and high-energy physics.

✨ I'm passionate about testable code, Continuous Integration, reproducible physics, and building software that makes scientific analysis more open, reusable, and scalable. Check my personal website for my CV and ways to get in touch with me.
