Shademanga does not display works marked [+18] #19357
Description
Source information
Shadow Manga 1.6.4
Source language
Spanish
Steps to reproduce
- Go to Shademanga.
- Enter the title of the work or the author's name. In this case: Ring x Mama
- No 18+ manga appears.
- Since the work isn’t found, we go to the WebView and enter the name of the work we’re looking for.
- The work appears; we check the filter that pops up to say “yes.”
- Back in the app, the work doesn’t appear, nor does any of the +18 content.
Expected behavior
- We go to Shademangas.
- No 18+ manga appears.
- Since the work isn’t found, we go to the WebView and enter the name of the work we’re looking for. In this case: Ring x Mama
- The work appears; we check the filter that pops up to say “yes.”
- We accept, and the +18 works we’re looking for appear in our app, along with all the works that were marked as +18
Actual behavior
The expected behavior is that the normal Shademangas search should display all works, both standard ones and those categorized as +18.
Mihon/Mihon fork version
Komikku 1.14.1
Android version
Android 11
Other details
As far as I can tell, the filter isn't visible as a button. It only activates when the work we're searching for on their website is marked +18. Once that happens, the work appears, along with many others marked the same way. But in the app, it only shows the result and doesn't find the work or the author.
Viewed from the website itself and in WebView

I noticed this when I uploaded a work marked as 18+ to this website. In this case, any work marked as 18+ does not appear in the list, but it does appear correctly on the website.
Further down, I searched by author (which is quicker to check because only 7 works come up; if I add “Ring x Mama” to the 119 works out of 120, the search isn’t that accurate, so I’m testing it, hahaha). And out of the 7 works searched for by author, only 3 come up.
I’m also uploading screenshots from the Komikku web view showing the result, so you can see it for yourself.
Acknowledgements
- I have searched existing issues both open & closed, and confirm that this is a new unreported issue.
- I have written a short but informative title.
- I have updated the app to version 0.20.1.
- I have updated the extension to the latest version (as listed on the extensions listing page).
- I have tried the troubleshooting guide.
- If this is an issue with the app itself, I should be opening an issue in the app repository.
- I will correctly fill out all of the requested information in this form.

Go to extensions list -> Click Shadow Manga extensions -> Turn on 18+ Source

I have it turned on, but the show still doesn't show up, and neither does any other one.
I uploaded this work to the website and marked it as adult content. Even so, I can't find the result. When I do on the website itself what I described in the ticket—which is normal usage—it shows the content marked as 18+
This website is a little peculiar. It doesn’t have a toggle to indicate that you also want to view +18 content (I’m not referring to the section that’s purely hentai).
The image I sent you is the “Seccion +18” which is exclusively for doujin content or works that literally contain “hentai.”

What I’m trying to say is that the website has a restriction that warns that this work contains sex scenes and nudity. And the URL—if we click on that “+18 Section” and accept the warning—will allow us to view the content that’s searched for or displayed.

In the extension, it enables that “+18 Section,” which is solely the hentai area. It has nothing to do with what I’m trying to explain xd

So basically, you want the main Shadow Manga extension to continue displaying all adult content? Because when I tried searching for “Ring x Mama” in the 18+ source, the comics were found.

Because the extension separates SAFE and NSFW content into different source extensions.

Okay. The manga I uploaded was in the main Shadowmanga section. It wasn't the “Shadowmangas (+18)” section, as it appears in the extension.
The “Ring x Mama” manga that appears belongs to the other section of the site.
What happened is that someone uploaded that manga to another section of the site—the one labeled “+18 section.”

What I did was upload the manga I had on my hard drive to the main Shadowmanga site. When you upload, it lets you mark whether the work is +18—it’s the typical filter to indicate that the work is for adults. The scan that appears on the main ShadowManga site is mine, because here you can sort by chapters and volumes.

I just installed Mihon and the extensions on BlueStacks, and I did the same thing. The manga doesn’t show up in the Mihon search engine. It’s as if the filter on Shademanga is preventing the content from being displayed.
It should show up in the first result, but nothing comes up. This only appears on the website.

Mihon (Bluestack 5)
Also, I apologize for any inconvenience caused. If you don’t understand my situation or problem, I don’t mind closing the ticket. It’s not something that’s absolutely essential, but I felt the need to report it.

Exactly. Your results are the same as mine. The search doesn't show any 18+ content. The results aren't the same as those from the extension or the website, which does show the work I uploaded.
Here's a video I recorded with OBS showing the result when the Shademanga website finds the work I uploaded.
When you go to the other section, it doesn’t take you to the “NSFW filter” that “Shademanga 1.6.4” has; instead, it takes you to another section called “Shademanga (+18),” which is literally a section for hentai. There, you could upload the work or other content.
Video 1 - explicacion: I explain the difference with subtitles.
Video 2 - explicacion2: My screenshot of the uploader showing the panel where there’s a tag to mark works with explicit content: It can include sex, drugs, bullying, etc. It’s not limited to just that.
It won't let me upload the videos. So I'm sending you two videos: “explicacion.mp4” and “explicacion2.mp4” via GoFile.
