R1/beta6 - #759

CC @humdingerb: the monthly report is mostly complete (but you can probably ignore that), and the release notes up to the "Software ports" section are complete. After that it's bullet points of the items I intend to add. If you could take a look and see what you think so far, that'd be great. CC @jscipione (since you wrote the wiki page, which I used as a partial reference). CC @pulkomandy, @leavengood, @kallisti5. I intend to work more on this on Monday. I need to do another package sync to r1b6 branch to pick up the updated Userguide packages before we can generate RC0, among some other things. Ideally, if all goes well, I'll generate RC0 on Monday and we'll release on Tuesday. |

Looks good so far. I'll have a look if I can provide some screenshots you mentioned later.

I've switched a while ago to humdinger@mailbox.org .
Maybe remove the last sentence of the page and list all names with their email addresses. (I imagine all our names and addresses have been exracted by an army of bots years ago…)

I will not have time to reply to press inquiries in this period of the year (or more generally in this period of my life :/ )
I think it's better to remove me from the list than disappoint the press people who may want to contact me.

I think this can be reduced to 128 or maybe 192MiB after various optimizations during this release cycle. 128MB is enough to boot to the desktop.

Likewise, you can probably run Haiku just fine with less storage than that, especially if you remove most of the optional packages.

this is a non-POSIX extension, should be moved in the below paragraph

| ### Improved POSIX compatibility | ||

| Haiku is always looking to see how we can improve our adherence to POSIX and make it easier for developers to port their software. There are too many changes in this area to individually list, but here are some highlights: |

Maybe mention the release of POSIX issue 8 in 2024, which explains in part why there are so many new things in this section

| For more help, take the ['Quick Tour'](https://www.haiku-os.org/docs/welcome/en/quicktour.html) and read the ['User Guide'](https://www.haiku-os.org/docs/userguide/en/contents.html), both linked on the Haiku desktop. WebPositive opens by default with [our 'Welcome' page](https://www.haiku-os.org/docs/welcome/welcome_en.html) which provides useful information and many helpful links, as does the Haiku Project's website. |

Maybe this paragraph should be moved earlier in the document, next to the download links?
I think this is difficult to screenshoot, see the userguide on the Screenshot app. Maybe export the userguide to the website and link to it?
I've attached an animated GIF. I added a "SHIFT!" text, OK?
I tried a bit of simpla HTML, but I'm too rusty to make it perfect. Maybe as a starting point, see the attached
I don't have a nice example… The only app showing many "subteams" is LibreWolf, and those are all named "LibreWolf" which isn't looking that nice. Here a simpler screenshot:
