⚙️ Installation & Setup

1. Clone the repository

git clone https://github.com/gaurirathi/SnapNews.git
cd SnapNews

2. Install dependencies

Frontend

cd client
npm install

Backend

cd server
npm install

---

3. Configure Environment Variables

Create a .env file inside the server folder:

DB_USERNAME=your_mongodb_username
DB_PASSWORD=your_mongodb_password

Make sure:

• MongoDB cluster is active
• Your IP is whitelisted in MongoDB Atlas

4. Run Backend

cd server
npm start

Server runs on:

http://localhost:8000

---

5. Run Frontend

Open another terminal:

cd client
npm start

Frontend runs on:

http://localhost:3000
