The CI workflow’s test / cargo test on linux job failed on Depot Ubuntu 24.04 during attempt 1 because pip_compile::compile_git_mismatched_name emitted an intermittent link-mode warning that was absent from its inline snapshot:
FAIL uv::pip_compile::pip_compile::compile_git_mismatched_name
+warning: Failed to hardlink files; falling back to full copy.
snapshot assertion for 'compile_git_mismatched_name' failed
The expected package-name mismatch error was otherwise unchanged. #818 does not modify this test or the workflow, and the test helper’s documentation says this warning can appear inconsistently depending on the environment. Similar snapshot flakes were mitigated for other tests by astral-sh#7012 and astral-sh#7512, but neither covers this test.
The exact filesystem error was not logged, so its immediate cause remains unknown. Filtering the link-mode warning for this environment-sensitive test, or otherwise making its link behavior deterministic, would prevent unrelated pull requests from failing.
