🚀 Getting Started

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure you have the following installed:

• Node.js (v14 or higher)
• PHP (v7.4 or higher)
• MySQL or MariaDB
• A web server (Apache/Nginx) or PHP built-in server

Installation

1. Clone the repository

   git clone https://github.com/anirbandas-01/community-sharing-platform.git
   cd community-sharing-platform

2. Set up the Frontend

   cd frontend
   npm install
   npm start

3. Set up the Backend

   cd Backend
   # Copy the example configuration file
   cp config.example.php config.php
   # Update config.php with your database credentials

4. Database Setup

   -- Create a new database
   CREATE DATABASE CommunitySharing;
   
   -- Import the database schema
   -- mysql -u your_username -p CommunitySharing < database/schema.sql

5. Start the Backend Server

   # If using PHP built-in server
   php -S localhost:8000
   
   # Or configure your Apache/Nginx to serve the Backend directory

6. Access the Application

   • Frontend: http://localhost:3000
   • Backend API: http://localhost:8000

🔧 Configuration

Environment Variables

Create a .env file in both frontend and Backend directories:

Frontend (.env)

REACT_APP_API_URL=http://localhost:8000/api
REACT_APP_NAME=CommunitySharing

Backend (.env or config.php)

For Community Members

1. Sign Up - Create your account with basic information
2. Complete Profile - Add details about skills and resources you can share
3. Explore - Browse available resources and community members
4. Connect - Reach out to members for collaborations or resource sharing
5. Share - List items, skills, or time you can contribute to the community

For Developers
