add electrical hardware #2275

Description

@schwarzatoffis

Template Instructions

We renamed hardware to electronic hardware, but for description of co-simulation with integration of hardware devices, the term electrical hardware would be helpful (See also discussion in #2196).

Proposed New Ontology Entity

  • Proposed Label (the primary term that is used to refer to the entity): electrical hardware
  • Potential Synonyms (any alternative terms that can also be used to refer to the entity):
  • Proposed Superclass (ideally an existing term in OEO): material artifact
  • Proposed Definition: "An electrical hardware is a material artifact that is part of an electrical system."
  • Definition Sources/References (links to any reference material that can help others better understand the entity):
  • Other Information:
    • What differentiates the proposed entity from other entities of the proposed superclass?
      • from oeo-dev #125: "electrical" = transfer of power/energy. "electronic" = transfer of digital information. All electronic hardware is electrical (example: a computer, a battery-powered alarm clock, etc.), not all electrical hardware is electronic (example: a light switch, a power line, etc.).
    • What would be an example of usage/instance of this entity?
    • What are potential subclasses of the proposed entity? electronic hardware might be moved to be a subclass.

Workflow checklist

  • I discussed the issue with someone else than me before working on a solution
  • I already read the latest version of the workflow for this repository
  • The goal of this ontology is clear to me

I am aware that

  • every entry in the ontology should have a definition
  • classes should arise from concepts rather than from words
  • any ontology content that is proposed in this issue may be altered as needed to fit the structure and conventions of the OEO
