GameServers
Game servers use two long-lived connections to the game service (i.e. nakama). The login_host line and serverdb_host.
-
login_hostis used for profile-related messages. -
serverdb_hostis used for registration, and player/lobby session operations.
The URL parameters of the serverdb_host are used to define the gameservers configuration on nakama.
Servers are required to use password authentication. This is done through the following url parameters.
-
discord_id- the discord ID of the server operator with server-host roles in guilds. -
password- a password used to authenticate. This password is set the first time the server connects, and once set, requires all clients using that account to use password authentication.
Server Hosts can select specific guilds to be accept game sessions from. When not defined, all EchoVRCE-enabled guilds are
-
guilds- a comma-delimited list of Discord Server/Guild IDs.
Regions are used to define the pool of servers that are available when creating a game session. The default region code is used for all public matchmaking / social lobby creation.
-
regions- a comma-delimited list of strings.
These values are automatically added to the server's regions list (and may be used on the echovr.exe command line to address a specific server, or pool of servers)
- The Server ID of the server
- The Discord User ID of the Operator
- The Discord Server ID of the guilds the server is allowed to host games for.
NOTE: When not defined--even when -serverregion is used on the command line, 'default' is added to the list.
Manual prioritization for specific modes can be done using the priority_mode:<mode> string of the tags= in the query string.
For example, to prioritize the game server for public Arena matches and public Social lobbies, the serverdb_host property will look similar to the following:
{
"serverdb_host": "ws://g.echovrce.com&discordid=1180459985751244811&password=somepw®ions=default,us-central-2tags=priority_mode:arena_private,"
}The following table is the supported priority modes:
priority_mode
---
arena_public
combat_public
social_public
arena_private
combat_private
social_private
