Aroha

Community health surveillance, from the ground up.

Aroha is an early-stage platform that detects disease outbreaks before they spread — by listening to anonymous symptom reports from ordinary people at the neighbourhood level.

Most outbreaks are detected weeks too late. Not because the signs weren't there, but because no one was listening at the ground level. Aroha changes that.

How It Works

  1. Report — A user anonymously reports symptoms via the app
  2. Cluster — Reports are grouped by geography and symptom type
  3. Detect — AI flags unusual spikes against seasonal baselines
  4. Alert — Local health authorities are notified before it escalates

No name. No phone number. Just a signal from your neighbourhood.

Core Features

  • Hyperlocal symptom heatmaps at ward/mohalla level
  • Fully anonymous reporting — zero identity collection
  • AI-powered anomaly detection with seasonal baselines
  • Lightweight — designed for low-data and low-smartphone environments
  • Direct alerts to ASHA workers and local health officials

Tech Stack

To be updated as the project develops.
