Hero Section Paragraph: Remove From ILFW in Version 6

The "Hero Section" paragraph (hero_section_page) needs to be removed from the IL Drupal Framework for version 6. Only the config / twig should be removed; there will be no cleanup or removal of the paragraph from existing sites. It will be on the site owners to remove the paragraph type from their sites.

The "Hero Section" paragraph is basically broken. Should we remove it from the framework? Should we revitalize it? Does it fill a need? We can have a discussion during one of our sprint planning meetings to decide.

The LAS Web team will investigate the sites that use the "Hero Section" paragraph and determine if they're currently being used and if so, possibly replace them with something else. Once that's done, we can proceed with removing the paragraph from the ILFW.

There were only a couple of instances of the "Hero Section" paragraph being used across the LAS websites. We can easily replace them with supported paragraphs.

The WIGG Drupal group discussed how to handle removing the "Hero Section" paragraph during the 5/20/26 meeting. The consensus seemed to be that we would mark the "Hero Section" paragraph as being deprecated/unsupported, and it will be removed from the ILFW version 6 release. Version 6 will just remove the config files from the framework, but not delete the config from an active site or remove any of the paragraphs. It will be up to site owners to remove those paragraphs individually on their sites.

Separate issues should be created for:

• Removing the config from the core module
• Updating our documentation to note that the "Hero Section" paragraph is deprecated
