EdgeMirror is source-available proprietary software, not open source.
- Evaluation: You may view, clone, and try EdgeMirror for non-production evaluation under
LICENSE. - Everything else: Production use, redistribution, SaaS/hosted offerings, CI gates for shipping products, and other commercial use require a paid commercial license.
This file describes how to inquire about a commercial license. It is not legal advice and is not itself a binding quote or purchase agreement.
Commercial terms are negotiated case-by-case. Topics often include:
- Production and internal business use
- Redistribution / OEM embedding (if needed)
- Hosted / SaaS / multi-tenant use
- Support or update expectations (if offered)
- Seat, org, or deployment scope
- Open a private channel with GitHub @theworker02 (preferred).
- Reference EdgeMirror and whether you need: production use, redistribution, SaaS, or acquisition / partnership.
- Include approximate company size, use case, and timeline.
Optional: open a GitHub Discussion or Issue titled Commercial license inquiry with non-sensitive details only — do not paste secrets.
For Cloudflare or other strategic acquisition / partnership conversations, also see ACQUISITION.md. Commercial licensing and IP transfer can proceed under negotiated agreements even while the public repository remains source-available for diligence.
Acquisition enforcement: If EdgeMirror is acquired, the copyright holder and/or the acquirer may take legal action against anyone still using post-transition code in production or commercially without a paid commercial license under the proprietary terms. Historical Apache-2.0 copies are a separate accuracy matter — see the transition notice.
Read LICENSE_TRANSITION_NOTICE.md for the diligence-ready letter on:
- historical Apache-2.0 copies (those grants are not claimed revoked);
- current/future proprietary terms (sale/commercial license required for production & commercial use);
- enforcement — including potential legal action — of unauthorized commercial or production use of post-transition code by the copyright holder and/or any acquirer/successor.

A completed acquisition or commercial license does not automatically convert EdgeMirror to open source. Post-closing rights are only those granted in the definitive agreement; absent an express open-source relicense, the Product stays proprietary.
