Working on financial products in the UAE I was faced with the issue, that Central Bank released their own Dirham Symbol that needs to be adopted without providing font specific alternatives. I therefore went ahead to create a inter Version of the Dirham symbol. If it fits I'm happy to contribute it or just provide it for anyone who has use. My understanding is that Dirham will be made available in Unicode later this year.
