How do I import an excel sheet while accurately keeping the data?

I have a spread sheet I want to import as my assets but the spreadsheet is 2 parts. One part is what we currently have in stock and the other part is what people have 'checked out'. When I try to import the assets in stock, the data gets miscategorized and I don't even know where to begin to import the data of the assets checked out. If there is a useful link that goes over this in immense detail, please send it over. Me and my last 2 braincells are fighting for their life atm.
