Problem installing

configure: error: cannot run /bin/bash ./config.sub

I get this when I run configure. The file config.sub doesn't seem to exist in the directory.

As an intermediate solution I got round this by first changing the links config.sub and config.guess to the equivalent on my machine (which has a different version):

rm config.sub config.guess
ln -s /usr/share/automake-1.15/config.guess config.guess
ln -s /usr/share/automake-1.15/config.sub config.sub

I then ran autoconf to regenerate the configuration (to fix a version mismatch) before calling configure, make and so on.

Okay I will have to remove the files from the repo completely and add the call to automake --add-missing to the documentation, I guess. Since these files get linked to the defaults in /usr/share it seems. But I'm no autotools guru and am open to suggestions.

I updated the documentation to include the automake call and removed the platform specific config file links from the sources. @ayys: Would you be so kind to test this again?

FWIW, this builds fine for me in a fresh clone and following the instructions in the Readme. The only thing I get now is the following compiler warning:
