The MentionMachine mark: an opening quotation mark on a rounded square

The plan and the Fix Pack

The exact changes, written for your site.

Guides · Done for you · Pricing · Back to the tour

A report that says what is wrong and stops there leaves the work to you. MentionMachine goes one step further. Every scan ends in a plan, ranked by what each job is worth, and a Fix Pack: the files that do those jobs, written from your own pages.

The plan, What to do in order, with each job ranked by what it is worth, then the Fix Pack: a robots.txt patch, the missing business details as structured data, and a worklist of page titles and summaries

Every screen below is from a demo business called Gleam Detailing, which is made up. Nothing here is a mock-up.

The plan

The plan, headed What to do, in order: seven jobs for the site ranked by what each could be worth to the overall score, each marked Now with a line on why it matters In order. The job worth the most to your score comes first.

With the reason. Each job says why it matters in terms of what an engine does, not in terms of a standard.

With the evidence. Where a rival was named for a question you lost, the plan names them.

The Fix Pack

The Fix Pack, headed Written for your site, with buttons for the Fix Pack PDF and the files as a zip: the first file is a robots.txt patch with the lines to add and Copy and Email to my developer buttons The third file in the Fix Pack, Missing business details: a note on where it goes and a block of structured data with slots in capitals for the opening days and times
A patch for robots.txt: the lines to add, and a note on what your firewall is blocking that the file cannot fix. Missing business details as structured data, with slots in capitals for the facts only you know.

What a Fix Pack can hold, depending on what the scan found:

  • A robots.txt patch that lets the AI crawlers in, added to your file and not in place of it.
  • Structured data that states what the business is, what it sells and where, in the form engines read most reliably.
  • An llms.txt file, a short guide to your site for AI engines.
  • Answers to the questions customers ask, drafted from what your pages already say.
  • A worklist of page titles and summaries: each page, what it says now, and what to change.

Three rules the Fix Pack keeps:

  • Written from your own pages. A file states only what your site already says about itself. Where a fact is missing, there is a slot in capitals, not a guess.
  • Nothing you do not need. A check your site passes hands over no file.
  • Yours to check. Each file is dated and says which pages it was written from, so you can read it against the site before you publish it.

Getting it onto the site

  • Copy a single file, or email it to your developer from the same screen.
  • Download everything as a zip, or as one PDF to hand over.
  • Follow a guide. The guides show where each change goes on the platform your site is built on.
  • Or have it done. The done-for-you service pastes the Fix Pack in and asks the engines again.

Then scan again. The history sets the new scan beside the old one and shows what moved.
