Bluetooth adapter not recognized on kernel 6.8.0-139 - ROG X570-F MB #3413
|
Core issue: Bluetooth adapter for ROG Strix X570-F Gaming Wifi Motherboard fails to be recognized/used on Kernel version 6.8.0-139 generic, worked on 6.8.0-138 generic. Steps performed: Performed Kernel update to 6.8.0-139 from 6.8.0-138-generic upon prompt. Bluetooth symbol in tray is grayed out and disabled by default. Enabling removes icon from tray but bluetooth devices do not connect (Bose 700 NC headset and generic xbox controller, microusb connector backup). Am able to launch 6.8.0-138-generic from grub launcher advanced options, and bluetooth functionality is still fully present. Performed update/upgrade functions and auto-remove, no improvement. No updates presently available in software manager. computer details: |

I have exactly the same issue but on different hardware:
I've attached a log of my system crash report for bluetoothctl. |

Just did some research. I think this problem is likely related to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-hwe-6.8/+bug/2165873. |

I have the same problem. Hardware:

Same issue described above. Latest kernel update has bluetooth off by default, once turned on cannot scan nor does it do any auto scanning. ` |

Does anyone know status of this problem? |

With latest linux kernel (6.8.0-146.146), bluetooth driver problem has been fixed. |

As best I've been able to research thanks to the link of pythonus-nation, we're all waiting for the linux kernel update to reach 6.8.0-146.146 or higher, where the issue becomes resolved. I have to assume this issue was moved to discussion because it isn't an issue of the bluetooth handler. We likely will need to wait until our respective distros update to the appropriately fixed kernel.
