Assistance Required – Workflow API Callout Error from Postman

I’m currently working on triggering a workflow through the Apache Hop REST API using Postman, but I’m encountering the following issue:

ERROR The specified workflow [null] could not be found

Below are the details of my setup:

Hop version 2.15.0

Hop Server Host: localhost

Port: 8080

Run Configuration: local

API Endpoint Used: /hop/workflows/add

Payload (XML):

C:/Users/shiva/filename.hwf
<run_configuration>local</run_configuration>
<log_level>BASIC</log_level>
<safe_mode>N</safe_mode>
<clearing_log>N</clearing_log>

</workflow_execution_configuration>

I’ve verified that:

The file path is correct and accessible.

The Hop Server is running and reachable from the browser (http://localhost:8080/hop/status).

Other endpoints (like /hop/status) return expected responses.

Despite this, the API call continues to return the “workflow [null] could not be found” error.

Hi there,

Hop server does not allow you to run files from the filesystem directly.
You either have to follow the full flow of first registering the workflow on the server and then executing it. Or what I would suggest is to use a wrapper async web service [1] to trigger the workflow.

I have followed all the steps that has been mentioned in the Hop documentation, still the problem is same.
is that its is because of Hops version? currently i was using 2.15.0.
