Can ipv6 be togglable in nginx. For non ipv6 networks it fails to run.

You can just comment the line (make it begin with #) such that the line looks like this:

True, but I'm deploying it off the shelf rather than maintaining a fork. Toggling this via environment variable would be useful for my use-case.

Assuming you're using the docker-compose.yml file in this repo, I think you can modify the nginx configuration file without having to rebuild the image by adding this:

  volumes:
    - /my/nginx/config/default.conf:/etc/nginx/conf.d/default.conf

I'm deploying via k8s, so this is possible. Is there a role for nginx in this project outside of setting some headers and serving the html? I'm not too familiar with the project, but is it possible for vert to serve itself?

Vert-sh is just a bunch of static files, that you can serve with any webserver. There has to be a little piece of software in between an HTTP request (which is what your browser talks) and your filesystem, with your vert-sh files. That piece of software was chosen to be Nginx for this project.

Or, you could just enable IPv6 in your Kubernetes cluster. IPv6 is the future, after all
