Thank you for your interest in contributing to Mrrakc! This document provides guidelines and instructions for contributing to the project.
There are several ways to contribute:
- Add new data - Add new places, people, or provinces ...
- Improve existing data - Enhance descriptions, add missing information, correct errors
- Expand schema - Suggest improvements to the data structure (Preferably in Issues or discussion)
- Improve tooling - Enhance validation scripts and workflows
- Promote and Build on top of the Data - Build products using Mrrakc data and mention it.
To maintain consistency across the dataset, we enforce standardization for certain fields:
- Activities: Use gerunds (e.g., "walking", "dining") and preferred categories like
sightseeing, dining, cultural activities, religious activities. Avoid redundant descriptions. - Items: Use standardized categories like
architecture, facilities, art & artifacts, food & drink. Keep values short and significant.
We aim for the least duplication possible. For example, instead of "touring museum collections" and "watching exhibitions", use cultural activities.
We are currently working on Casablanca鈥檚 data. The dataset has already been curated and validated against the JSON schema, and enriched using AI and web search. We are now performing the final human validation before releasing the first version.
- Be respectful and inclusive
- Focus on factual and accurate information
- Provide sources when possible
- Accept feedback gracefully
Your contributions help document and preserve Morocco's rich cultural and historical heritage. Thank you for being a part of this project!
