Extended ME Requester #649

Description

@CaptainMarTuuk

I'd like to see an ExtendedAE version of the ME Requester when both mods are installed.

This is mainly because the Extended Pattern Providers have WAY more slots than a regular ME Requester does, to the point where you need 8 ME Requesters in order to use all the slots added by an Extended Pattern Provider.

The ME Requester mod does have a config option to increase the amount of "requests" each Requester can make, however this is not ideal for a few reasons.

  1. For one, the config is finnicky and doesn't always work.
  2. Simply changing the config to make the ME Requester more powerful is just not good balancing, and it is not a good way of establishing progression in modpacks, since it has to be done manually and isn't naturally integrated with the game.
  3. The regular ME Requester is still useful in early game AE2, prior to advancing on towards the ExtendedAE content. Only then does it become outdated.

My suggestion is to added an Extended ME Requester, following the normal ExtendedAE balancing system with its advanced entro-based components, which has 4x the base amount of "request" slots as the normal ME Requester (which has 5 slots, therefore the Extended Requester would have 20). This tracks the ExtendedAE balancing of generally 4xing the normal AE2 blocks. In this case, the Extended Pattern Provider would still have 16 more slots than an Extended ME Requester, but I think this is fair considering the balancing of the normal Requester.

You could also make it so that the Extended ME Requester has slots based on the amount set in the ME Requester Config. For example, if a user indicates they would like default ME Requesters to have 8 slots (to match Pattern Providers), then the Extended ME Requester would have 4x the config value of 8, for 36 slots (thereby matching the Extended Pattern Provider).
